This quote comes from Daniel 3:17-18 "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up"
I'm going to guess that your familiar with the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. (Or Rack Shack and Benny) ;) They said this just before King Nebuchadnezzar had them tied and thrown into the furnace. There are a lot of things you can learn from this story, but I'm only going to go over one today.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew that even though God could save them, He might not, and even if He didn't, He was still the good and just God that He was before.
From this we can learn that when we ask God for something, and he doesn't give it, that He still good and just.
If something tragic happens in your life, instead of wondering why God would let something so bad happen, remind yourself that He is still just as good and loving as He was before.
This post has been on my heart for a little while, and even though it's short, I hope it makes an impact on someone.
God bless!
